Soma Pavamāna
ఈ చిన్న పావమాన స్తోత్రం శుద్ధీకరణ క్రియలో సోముడు ఉప్పొంగి ముందుకు దూసుకెళ్లి, దేవతల ఆనందార్థం వేగంగా ప్రవహిస్తూ ప్రకాశమయ శక్తిని సంపాదించడాన్ని స్తుతిస్తుంది. మర్దన–శుద్ధీకరణను ఇది సజీవంగా చిత్రిస్తుంది—మథన దండంతో ప్రకాశవంతమైన సోమరసాన్ని పట్టుకొని, అతనిని “గోవులతో” (కిరణాలు/పాలు) కలిపి, ముఖ్యంగా ఇంద్రునికై ఉల్లాసకరమైన వీర్యాన్ని సిద్ధం చేయడం. దీని ఉద్దేశ్యం కర్మకాండాత్మకమూ ప్రతీకాత్మకమూ: యజ్ఞాన్ని బలపరచడం, శుద్ధమైన ఉన్నత చైతన్యాన్ని వ్యక్తం చేయడం.

असृग्रन्देववीतयेऽत्यासः कृत्व्या इव । क्षरन्तः पर्वतावृधः ॥
దేవుల ఆస్వాదనార్థం ఈ వేగవంతులు ఉప్పొంగి ప్రవహించారు—తమ కర్తవ్యానికి నియుక్తమైన క్రియాశక్తుల వలె. క్షరించుచూ వారు పర్వత-వృద్ధులు—స్థిరమైన ఉన్నతాలను పెంపొందిస్తారు.

परिष्कृतास इन्दवो योषेव पित्र्यावती । वायुं सोमा असृक्षत ॥
పరిష్కృతమైన ప్రకాశవంతమైన ఇందు-ధారలు—పితృబలసంపన్న కన్యవలె—వాయు (ప్రాణగతి) వైపు తమ్మును తాము ప్రవహింపజేస్తాయి.

एते सोमास इन्दवः प्रयस्वन्तश्चमू सुताः । इन्द्रं वर्धन्ति कर्मभिः ॥
ఇవి సోమ-ఇందువులు; యజ్ఞద్రవ్యసమృద్ధులు; చమూ (పాత్రం) లో సుతమైనవి; కర్మములచే (యజ్ఞక్రియ మరియు అంతఃసాధన) ఇంద్రుని వర్ధింపజేస్తాయి.

आ धावता सुहस्त्यः शुक्रा गृभ्णीत मन्थिना । गोभिः श्रीणीत मत्सरम् ॥
ఇటు ధావించండి, సుహస్త్యులు (కుశలహస్తులు); మంథిన (మథనీ-దండం) తో ప్రకాశించే సోమాన్ని గ్రహించండి; గోభిః (కిరణాలు/గవ్యాలు) తో మత్సర (మాదక ఆనందం) ను కలిపి పుష్టిపరచండి.

स पवस्व धनंजय प्रयन्ता राधसो महः । अस्मभ्यं सोम गातुवित् ॥
హే ధనంజయా! నీవు పవిత్రుడై ప్రవహించు; మహత్తర రాధస్ (కల్యాణ-సంపద)ను ముందుకు నడిపించువాడవై ఉండు. హే సోమా, గాతువిత్ (మార్గ-జ్ఞాతా), మా కొరకు (కల్యాణపు) మార్గాన్ని కనుగొను.

एतं मृजन्ति मर्ज्यं पवमानं दश क्षिपः । इन्द्राय मत्सरं मदम् ॥
ఈ మర్జ్య (శుద్ధి చేయదగిన) సోముని—స్వయంగా పవమానుని—పది క్షిప్ర (వేగవంతమైన) చేతులు మర్దించి శుద్ధి చేస్తాయి; ఇంద్రునికి ఇది మత్సర (ఉన్మత్తానందం) మరియు మద (మత్తు/పరమానందం)గా ఉంటుంది.
