ఈ ఆరు-ఋచల త్రిష్టుభ్ స్తోత్రం ద్వయ దేవతలైన సోమ–పూషణులను ఆహ్వానిస్తుంది—వారిని సమృద్ధికి సంయుక్త జనకులుగా, అలాగే లోకాలలోను ఉపాసకునిలోను అమృతత్వం మరియు ఐశ్వర్యానికి “నాభి” (nābhi)ని స్థాపించే రక్షకులుగా స్తుతిస్తుంది. వృద్ధి యొక్క కేంద్రీయ మూలాన్ని—ధనం, పోషణ, ఫలప్రద శక్తులు—విస్తరింపజేయమని, అలాగే అంతర్దృష్టిని వేగవంతం చేసి రక్షణ ప్రసాదించమని ప్రార్థిస్తుంది; చివరికి అదితి యొక్క రక్షక సన్నిధి కూడా కలిసిన ఆశీర్వాదంతో ముగుస్తుంది.

सोमापूषणा जनना रयीणां जनना दिवो जनना पृथिव्याः । जातौ विश्वस्य भुवनस्य गोपौ देवा अकृण्वन्नमृतस्य नाभिम् ॥
ఓ సోమా, పూషణా! ‘రయి’ (సంపద)-కు జనకులు, ‘ద్యౌ’ (స్వర్గం/ఆకాశం)-కు జనకులు, భూమికి జనకులు—సర్వ ‘భువన’ (జగత్)-కు ‘గోపా’ (రక్షకులు)గా జన్మించినవారు; దేవులు మిమ్మల్ని ‘అమృత’ (అమరత్వం) యొక్క ‘నాభి’ (కేంద్రం)గా చేసారు.

इमौ देवौ जायमानौ जुषन्तेमौ तमांसि गूहतामजुष्टा । आभ्यामिन्द्रः पक्वमामास्वन्तः सोमापूषभ्यां जनदुस्रियासु ॥
ఈ ఇద్దరు దేవులు జన్మించుచుండగా ఆనందిస్తారు; ఈ ఇద్దరు ‘అజుష్ట’ (అంగీకరించని) తమస్ (చీకటి)లను దాచివేస్తారు. ఈ ఇద్దరి ద్వారా ఇంద్రుడు పచ్చదానిలో పక్వమైనదాన్ని (పరిపక్వాన్ని) ఉద్భవింపజేస్తాడు; సోమ-పూషణుల ద్వారా అతడు ‘ఉస్రియా’ (ఉషస్సు-సదృశ) ప్రకాశించే గోవులు/కిరణ-ధేనువులను జనింపజేస్తాడు.

सोमापूषणा रजसो विमानं सप्तचक्रं रथमविश्वमिन्वम् । विषूवृतं मनसा युज्यमानं तं जिन्वथो वृषणा पञ्चरश्मिम् ॥
ఓ సోమా, పూషణా, రజస్ (మధ్యలోకం)ను కొలిచే, సప్తచక్ర రథాన్ని—సర్వత్ర గమించే దానిని—మీరు ప్రేరేపిస్తారు. మనస్సుతో యుక్తమై, విశూవృతం (సర్వదిశా-పరివర్తి)గా ఉన్న—ఓ వృషణౌ (బలవంతులారా), ఆ పంచరశ్మి (ఐదు రశ్ములు/ఐదు లాగాలు) గల శక్తిని మీరు చలింపజేస్తారు.

दिव्यन्यः सदनं चक्र उच्चा पृथिव्यामन्यो अध्यन्तरिक्षे । तावस्मभ्यं पुरुवारं पुरुक्षुं रायस्पोषं वि ष्यतां नाभिमस्मे ॥
ఒకడు దివ్యలోకంలో ఎత్తుగా తన సదనాన్ని స్థాపించాడు; మరొకడు పృథివిలోను అంతరిక్షంలోను. ఆ ఇద్దరూ మా కోసం వృద్ధి యొక్క నాభికేంద్రాన్ని—రాయస్‌పోషం (ధనసంపద-పోషణం), అనేక వాంఛనీయ శక్తులతో సమృద్ధిగా, అనేక ఫలప్రద వృద్ధులతో కూడినదాన్ని—మాలో విస్తరింపజేయుగాక.

विश्वान्यन्यो भुवना जजान विश्वमन्यो अभिचक्षाण एति । सोमापूषणाववतं धियं मे युवाभ्यां विश्वाः पृतना जयेम ॥
ఇద్దరిలో ఒకడు సమస్త భువనాలను జన్మింపజేశాడు; మరొకడు సమస్తాన్ని దర్శిస్తూ సంచరిస్తాడు. ఓ సోమ-పూషణా, నా ధియం (బుద్ధి/ప్రేరిత వాక్కు)ను ఆదరించండి—మీ ఇద్దరి ద్వారా మేము అన్ని పృతనాలను (యుద్ధాలను) జయించుదుము.

धियं पूषा जिन्वतु विश्वमिन्वो रयिं सोमो रयिपतिर्दधातु । अवतु देव्यदितिरनर्वा बृहद्वदेम विदथे सुवीराः ॥
సర్వాన్ని ప్రేరేపించే పూషన్ మా ధి (బుద్ధి-ప్రజ్ఞ) ని ప్రబోధింపజేయుగాక; రయి యొక్క అధిపతి సోముడు మా లో రయి (సంపద/పోషణ) ని స్థాపించుగాక. దివ్యమైన, తప్పులేని—అనర్వా అదితి మమ్మల్ని రక్షించుగాక; విదథ (యజ్ఞ-సభ) లో మేము బృహత్—మహత్తర సత్యం—ను పలుకుదుము; సు-వీరాః—ఉత్తమ వీర్యం, ప్రకాశవంతమైన శక్తులతో సమృద్ధులమై.
Frequently Asked Questions
Soma represents the sacred, invigorating essence that supports vitality and immortality, while Pūṣan is the nourishing protector and guide of right paths. Invoked together, they unite inner inspiration with outward nourishment and safe, fruitful increase.
It means “the navel (center/hub) of immortality.” The hymn imagines Soma–Pūṣan as a central source from which life, prosperity, and divine vitality radiate into the worlds and into the worshipper.
It asks for prosperity and nourishment (rāyas-poṣa), the quickening of insight (dhī), protection (especially through Aditi), and the strength to speak truthfully and expansively (“the Vast”) in the communal assembly.
