अयं संक्षिप्तः सूक्तः जातवेदसं होतारं च अग्निमाह्वयति यत् स यजमानस्य यज्ञकर्म अमृतानां मध्ये निधत्ताम्, यथाविधि स्वीकृतं वहति च। अत्र घृतसिक्ताः स्तोकाः (घृतश्चुतः) हविषः प्राधान्येनोच्यन्ते, तथा च अग्नेः प्रमुखत्वं—स प्रथमं निषीदति, श्रेष्ठ ऋषिरिव समिध्यते, यज्ञस्य गोप्ता विधाता च भवति—इति प्रतिपाद्यते।

Mantra 1
इमं नो यज्ञममृतेषु धेहीमा हव्या जातवेदो जुषस्व । स्तोकानामग्ने मेदसो घृतस्य होतः प्राशान प्रथमो निषद्य ॥
इमं नो यज्ञममृतेषु धेहि; इमा हव्याः जातवेदो जुषस्व। अग्ने, होतृरूपेण प्रथमं निषद्य, मेदसः स्तोकान् घृतस्य च दीप्तस्य प्राशान—यथा अस्मासु यज्ञः सम्यगनुक्रमेण प्रवर्धते।

घृतवन्तः पावक ते स्तोकाः श्चोतन्ति मेदसः । स्वधर्मन्देववीतये श्रेष्ठं नो धेहि वार्यम् ॥
पावक, ते घृतवन्तः स्तोकाः मेदसः सारं श्चोतन्ति। स्वधर्मन्, देववीतये अस्मासु श्रेष्ठं वार्यं धेहि।

तुभ्यं स्तोका घृतश्चुतोऽग्ने विप्राय सन्त्य । ऋषिः श्रेष्ठः समिध्यसे यज्ञस्य प्राविता भव ॥
अग्ने, तुभ्यं घृतश्चुताः स्तोकाः विप्राय सन्ति। त्वं श्रेष्ठ ऋषिरिव समिध्यसे; यज्ञस्य प्राविता भव—अस्य सम्यग्गतिं अस्मासु रक्ष।

तुभ्यं श्चोतन्त्यध्रिगो शचीवः स्तोकासो अग्ने मेदसो घृतस्य । कविशस्तो बृहता भानुनागा हव्या जुषस्व मेधिर ॥
तुभ्यं शचीवोऽध्रिगोऽग्ने मेदसो घृतस्य च स्तोकाः श्चोतन्ति। कविशस्तो बृहता भानुना आगाः; हव्याः जुषस्व, मेधिर, अस्माकम् अन्तर्यज्ञं फलय।

ओजिष्ठं ते मध्यतो मेद उद्भृतं प्र ते वयं ददामहे । श्चोतन्ति ते वसो स्तोका अधि त्वचि प्रति तान्देवशो विहि ॥
ओजिष्ठं ते मध्यतो मेद उद्भृतं वयं प्र ददामहे। वसो, ते स्तोकाः त्वच्यधि श्चोतन्ति; तान् देवशो विहि—अन्तः हव्यस्य यथाविधि विन्यासं वितरणं च कुरु।
