ଏହି ସୋମ ପବମାନ ସୂକ୍ତରେ ପିଷ୍ଟ ସୋମକୁ ଦ୍ରୁତ, ଗର୍ଜନମୟ ଧାରାରୂପେ ସ୍ତୁତି କରାଯାଇଛି—ରଥମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଉଦ୍ଧତ ଭାବେ ଧାଉଥିବା, ଯଜମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଳ, ପ୍ରଚୁରତା ଓ ପ୍ରେରିତ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଦେଇଥିବା। ଏହା ସୋମର ଶୋଧନ ଓ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟକରଣ ଶକ୍ତିକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରେ—ଛାଣନୀ ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଗତି କରି ‘ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟଦର୍ଶୀ’ ହେବା ଓ ଧୀ (ପ୍ରେରିତ ଚିନ୍ତା)କୁ ଜାଗ୍ରତ କରିବା। ସୋମକୁ ପଣିମାନଙ୍କ ଠାରୁ ଗୁପ୍ତ ଧନ ପୁନରୁଦ୍ଧାରକ ଏବଂ ‘ତଣା ତନ୍ତୁ’କୁ ଦୃଢ଼ କରୁଥିବା ବୋଲି ମଧ୍ୟ ସ୍ତୁତି କରାଯାଇଛି—ଯାହା ଯଜ୍ଞକ୍ରିୟା ଓ ସାକ୍ଷାତ୍କାରର ଅବିଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନତାର ପ୍ରତୀକ।

एते सोमास आशवो रथा इव प्र वाजिनः । सर्गाः सृष्टा अहेषत ॥
ଏହି ସୋମମାନେ ଆଶବଃ (ଶୀଘ୍ରଗତି) — ରଥମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଆଗକୁ ଧାଉଛନ୍ତି; ବାଜିନଃ (ବଳ-ସମୃଦ୍ଧିର ବାହକ)। ସର୍ଗାଃ (ପ୍ରବାହ) ଭାବେ ମୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ସେମାନେ ଗର୍ଜନ କରି ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି।

एते वाता इवोरवः पर्जन्यस्येव वृष्टयः । अग्नेरिव भ्रमा वृथा ॥
ଏମାନେ ବାତା ପରି ବିଶାଳ ଗର୍ଜନ ସହ ଗତି କରନ୍ତି; ପର୍ଜନ୍ୟଙ୍କ ବର୍ଷା ପରି ବର୍ଷନ୍ତି; ଅଗ୍ନିର ଘୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିତ ଜ୍ୱାଳା ପରି ପରିଭ୍ରମଣ କରନ୍ତି—ଜଡତାକୁ ଛିଟାଇ, ବନ୍ଦକୁ ଭେଦି ଖୋଲିଦିଅନ୍ତି।

एते पूता विपश्चितः सोमासो दध्याशिरः । विपा व्यानशुर्धियः ॥
ଏମାନେ ଶୁଦ୍ଧ, ବିପଶ୍ଚିତ୍ ସୋମ-ଶକ୍ତିମାନେ—ଦଧ୍ୟାଶିର (ଦହି-ମିଶ୍ରିତ) ହୋଇ—ପ୍ରେରିତ ଧିୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ସର୍ବତ୍ର ବ୍ୟାପକ ଭାବେ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ କରିଛନ୍ତି; ଦ୍ରଷ୍ଟୃ-ଶକ୍ତି ପରି ଗତି କରି ବୁଦ୍ଧିକୁ ଅନେକ ଦିଗରେ ଉନ୍ମୋଚନ କରନ୍ତି।

ଏମାନେ ପ୍ରେରିତ ବିପ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଗତି କରି, ଦୁଇ ଲୋକ—ରୋଦସୀ—ର ପୃଷ୍ଠମାନ (ଉଚ୍ଚତା) ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସର୍ବତ୍ର ବ୍ୟାପକ ଭାବେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଛନ୍ତି; ଏବଂ ଏହି ଉତ୍ତମ ରଜଃ—ପରମ ତେଜୋମୟ ଲୋକ—ଏହି ସର୍ବୋଚ୍ଚ ବିସ୍ତାରକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ କରିଛନ୍ତି।

त्वं सोम पणिभ्य आ वसु गव्यानि धारयः । ततं तन्तुमचिक्रदः ॥
ହେ ସୋମ, ତୁମେ ପଣିମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଗବ୍ୟାନି—ପ୍ରକାଶମୟ କିରଣମାନଙ୍କର ଧନ—ପୁନଃ ଆଣି ଦୃଢ଼ଭାବେ ଧାରଣ କର। ତୁମେ ତଣାଯାଇଥିବା ତନ୍ତୁକୁ ସ୍ଥିର କରିଛ—କର୍ମର ଅବିଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନତା ଓ ସିଦ୍ଧି-ମାର୍ଗର ନିରନ୍ତରତା।
