Varuṇa
अयं लघुस्तोत्रः वरुणं सर्वज्ञम् असुरं महान्त्या स्तुत्या प्रथमतः निरूपयति—यः दिवं स्थापयामास, पृथिवीं मिमाय, अखण्डेन ऋतेन स्वैः ‘व्रतानि’ इति ख्यातैः नियमैः सर्वान् लोकान् अधितिष्ठति। उत्तरपदेषु तु सोमयागपरिसरे भावः प्रवर्तते; नासत्यावश्विनौ सोमपीडने आगच्छतां सोमं पिबतां चेति आह्वयति, यागस्य गतयो यथासमं सम्यगैक्येन समन्वयन्।

अस्तभ्नाद्द्यामसुरो विश्ववेदा अमिमीत वरिमाणं पृथिव्याः । आसीदद्विश्वा भुवनानि सम्राड्विश्वेत्तानि वरुणस्य व्रतानि ॥
