Sukta 7.58
Vasiṣṭha (traditional for Maṇḍala 7; hymn-level not supplied in input)
Marutāḥ (continuation of Marut-cycle in 7.58)
They are a united troop of storm and wind powers, described as mighty, swift, and world-shaking, who also protect and enrich the worshippers.
It asks for inspired speech and prosperity, strength and victorious power that breaks obstruction (Vṛtra), and protection by driving hatred and harm far away.
Vṛtra represents blockage and restraint; the hymn says the Maruts’ fostering energy empowers the breaking of such obstruction, both in nature (release of waters) and in human life (removing hindrances).
