Este breve hino a Pavamāna louva Soma enquanto é prensado e purificado, correndo adiante como uma poderosa carruagem-touro rumo à abundância e à força. Os versos se demoram no rápido movimento de Soma para a esfera humana e em sua aproximação íntima ao «ventre querido» — o lugar de assentamento onde ele se torna apto para a oferta e para a bebida. Seu propósito é sacralizar o fluxo de purificação e convidar para o rito o poder revigorante e sustentador da vida de Soma.

Mantra 1
एष उ स्य वृषा रथोऽव्यो वारेभिरर्षति । गच्छन्वाजं सहस्रिणम् ॥
Este, de fato, é aquele Touro poderoso, o carro; com envoltórios imperecíveis ele flui adiante, indo rumo à plenitude mil vezes da força.
Mantra 2
एतं त्रितस्य योषणो हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये ॥
A este, o fulvo (Soma) de Trita, as donzelas o impelem adiante com as pedras de prensar — a gota luminosa para Indra beber.
Mantra 3
एतं त्यं हरितो दश मर्मृज्यन्ते अपस्युवः । याभिर्मदाय शुम्भते ॥
A este mesmo dez corcéis fulvos o brunem, ávidos da obra; por eles ele se adorna para a embriaguez do poder.
Mantra 4
एष स्य मानुषीष्वा श्येनो न विक्षु सीदति । गच्छञ्जारो न योषितम् ॥
Este (Soma) vem assentar-se entre os humanos como um falcão entre os clãs; avança como o amante rumo à amada.

एष स्य मद्यो रसोऽव चष्टे दिवः शिशुः । य इन्दुर्वारमाविशत् ॥
Eis o seu rasa melífluo, a criança do céu, que aqui embaixo se vê: essa gota luminosa, Indu, que entrou no recinto.
Mantra 6
एष स्य पीतये सुतो हरिरर्षति धर्णसिः । क्रन्दन्योनिमभि प्रियम् ॥
Eis o Soma, espremido para beber: fulvo, corrente, firme em seu suporte; clamando, apressa-se ao ventre querido — ao seu próprio assento amado de manifestação.
