Viśve Devāḥ (the Thirty-Three Gods)
આ સંક્ષિપ્ત સૂક્ત ‘તેત્રીસ’ દિવ્ય શક્તિઓ તરીકે કલ્પિત વિશ્વેદેવોને આવાહન કરે છે કે તેઓ યજ્ઞકુશ પર યોગ્ય ક્રમમાં પોતાના નિર્ધારિત આસનો ગ્રહણ કરે અને વિધિની યોગ્ય વ્યવસ્થા સ્થિર રાખે. આગળ, પાછળ, ઉપર, નીચે—દરેક બાજુથી સર્વાંગી રક્ષક બનવા માટે આ સર્વદેવોને પ્રાર્થના કરે છે. અંતે, સાતવિધ (સપ્તગણ) દૃષ્ટિમાં દિવ્ય બળોનું ચિત્રણ કરીને, તેમના પ્રકાશો, શસ્ત્રો અને તેજોવૈભવો સંપૂર્ણ રીતે સ્થાપિત છે એમ દર્શાવે છે.

Mantra 1
ये त्रिंशति त्रयस्परो देवासो बर्हिरासदन् । विदन्नह द्वितासनन् ॥
જે દેવો ત્રીસ અને ત્રણથી પર છે, તેઓ બર્હિ (પવિત્ર ઘાસ) પર બેસ્યા. તેઓ જાણતા જ હતા; દ્વિધા ક્રમમાં બેઠકો ગ્રહણ કરી—યજ્ઞક્ષેત્રમાં દેવશક્તિઓની યોગ્ય વ્યવસ્થા સ્થાપી.

वरुणो मित्रो अर्यमा स्मद्रातिषाचो अग्नयः । पत्नीवन्तो वषट्कृताः ॥
વરুণ, મિત્ર અને અર્યમા—અમારી ઋતદાયી અર્પણ-ધારા સાથે ગતિ કરનાર—અને અગ્નિઓ સાથે. પત્નીવંત (શક્તિ-સહિત) બની, વષટ્કૃતાઃ—વષટ્-ધ્વનિને પૂર્ણતામાં વહન કરનાર શક્તિઓ—થાય છે.

ते नो गोपा अपाच्यास्त उदक्त इत्था न्यक् । पुरस्तात्सर्वया विशा ॥
તેઓ અમારા ગોપા—કિરણોના રક્ષક—થાઓ; પાછળથી અને દરેક વાંકી દિશામાં વળવાથી અમને બચાવો. ઉપરથી અને નીચેથી, અને સમગ્ર વિશા (સમસ્ત સત્તા) સાથે આગળથી પણ રક્ષા કરો.

यथा वशन्ति देवास्तथेदसत्तदेषां नकिरा मिनत् । अरावा चन मर्त्यः ॥
જેમ દેવો ઇચ્છે અને શાસે, તેમ જ તે બને છે; તેમની વિધિ (ઋત) ને કોઈ ઘટાડતું નથી—કોઈ મર્ત્ય નહિ, ધનવાન પણ નહિ.

सप्तानां सप्त ऋष्टयः सप्त द्युम्नान्येषाम् । सप्तो अधि श्रियो धिरे ॥
સાતના સાત ભાલાના અગ્ર છે, સાત તેમની તેજસ્વી દ્યુમ્ના (પ્રકાશ-શક્તિઓ) છે; અને સાતગણી શ્રિયો (શોભા-સમૃદ્ધિઓ) તેમના ઉપર સ્થાપિત છે—પૂર્ણ પરિપૂર્ણતા રૂપે સ્થિર.
