اٹھروید سکت ۲.۲۳ ایک مختصر جادو ٹالنے کا منتر ہے جو پانیوں (آپہ) کو روشن، آتشین طاقت کے طور پر استعمال کرتا ہے جو دشمنی کو پلٹانے کی صلاحیت رکھتی ہے۔ پانیوں کی روشنی (ارچش)، ہٹانے کی قوت (ہرہ)، اور تاثیر (تیجس) کو پکار کر یہ منتر نقصان کو واپس موڑ دیتا ہے اور حملہ آور سے طاقت چھین لیتا ہے، جبکہ پڑھنے والے کے دائرہ کار کی حفاظت بھی کرتا ہے۔

शत्रुनाशनम्। आपो॒ यद् व॒स्तप॒स्तेन॒ तं प्रति॑ तपत॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
اے پانیو، تمہاری جو جلتی ہوئی تپش ہے - اس سے اسے واپس جلا دو، اسے جو ہم سے نفرت کرتا ہے، جس سے ہم خود بھی نفرت کرتے ہیں۔

आपो॒ यद् वो॒ हर॒स्तेन॒ तं प्रति॑ हरत॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
اے پانیو، تمہاری جو لے جانے کی طاقت ہے - اس سے بدلے میں اسے واپس لے جاؤ، اسے جو ہم سے نفرت کرتا ہے، جس سے ہم خود بھی نفرت کرتے ہیں۔

आपो॒ यद् वो॒ऽर्चिस्तेन॒ तं प्रत्य॑र्चत॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
اے پانیو، تمہاری جو روشنی ہے، اس سے اس پر واپس چمکو - اس آدمی پر جو ہم سے نفرت کرتا ہے، جس سے ہم بھی نفرت کرتے ہیں۔

اے پانیو، تمہاری جو آگنی طاقت ہے - اس سے اسے بے طاقت کر دو جو ہم سے نفرت کرتا ہے، جس سے ہم بھی نفرت کرتے ہیں۔
It is used to counter and reverse hostility—social enmity or sorcery-like harm—by invoking the Waters to send the force back and weaken the aggressor’s efficacy (tejas).
In Atharvanic thought, water is not only cleansing; it can carry an inner heat/radiance (arciṣ/tejas) that acts as an active protective and retaliatory power when ritually addressed.
The core substance is water itself. Many prayogas use only clean water consecrated by recitation and applied by sprinkling for protection and symbolic reversal.
