Mantra 1
दीर्घायुःप्राप्तिः। दश॑वृक्ष मु॒ञ्चेमं रक्ष॑सो॒ ग्राह्या॒ अधि॒ यैनं॑ ज॒ग्राह॒ पर्व॑सु । अथो॑ एनं वनस्पते जी॒वानां॒ लो॒क॑मु॑न्नय
ขอให้ได้มาซึ่งอายุยืน. โอ้ต้นไม้สิบต้นเอ๋ย จงปลดปล่อยชายผู้นี้จากรากษสา (Rākṣasa) จากผู้ฉวยจับที่เกาะกุมเขาไว้ตามข้อต่อทั้งหลาย. และโอ้เจ้าแห่งพงไพร (vanaspati) เอ๋ย ยิ่งกว่านั้นจงนำเขาขึ้นไปสู่โลกของผู้มีชีวิต.
Mantra 2
आगा॒दुद॑गाद॒यं जी॒वानां॒ व्रात॒मप्य॑गात्। अभू॑दु पु॒त्राणां॑ पि॒ता नृ॒णां च॒ भग॑वत्तमः
เขามาถึงที่นี่แล้ว; เขาลุกขึ้นออกไปแล้ว: ผู้นี้ได้ไปถึงหมู่แห่งผู้มีชีวิตแล้ว. แท้จริงเขาได้เป็นบิดาแห่งบุตรทั้งหลาย และในหมู่มนุษย์เป็นผู้เปี่ยมบุญทานและเป็นมงคลยิ่งนัก.

अधी॑ती॒रध्य॑गाद॒यमधि॑ जीवपु॒रा अ॑गान्। श॒तं ह्य॑स्य भि॒षजः॑ स॒हस्र॑मु॒त वी॒रुधः॑
ผู้นี้ได้ก้าวล่วงโรคภัยและเคราะห์ร้ายทั้งหลายไปแล้ว; ได้ก้าวล่วงป้อมปราการแห่งชีวิตไปแล้ว. เพราะเขามีหมอรักษาหนึ่งร้อย และยิ่งกว่านั้นหนึ่งพัน อีกทั้งมีสมุนไพร (vīrudh) ด้วย.

दे॒वास्ते॑ ची॒तिम॑विदन् ब्र॒ह्माण॑ उ॒त वी॒रुधः॑ । ची॒तिं ते॒ विश्वे॑ दे॒वा अवि॑द॒न् भूम्या॒मधि॑
เหล่าเทพได้ค้นพบ “คลังพลังที่สั่งสม” (cīti) ของท่าน; พราหมณ์ทั้งหลายก็เช่นกัน และเหล่าพืชสมุนไพร (vīrudh) ก็เช่นกัน. คลังพลังที่สั่งสมของท่านนั้น—เทพทั้งปวงได้ค้นพบมันบนผืนแผ่นดิน.

यश्च॒कार॒ स निष्क॑र॒त् स ए॒व सुभि॑षक्तमः । स ए॒व तुभ्यं॑ भेष॒जानि॑ कृ॒णव॑द् भि॒षजा॒ शुचिः॑
ผู้ใดได้กระทำการรักษา ผู้นั้นได้นำมันออกมาให้ปรากฏ; เขานั่นแลเป็นแพทย์ผู้เลิศที่สุด. เขานั่นเอง ผู้เป็นผู้รักษา (bhiṣaj) อันบริสุทธิ์ จะจัดเตรียมยาทั้งหลาย (bheṣajáni) ให้แก่ท่าน.
Both. It begins in a paustika mode—inviting auspicious fortune to settle among the living—and then expresses that same beneficence as healing power that passes beyond plagues and activates remedies.
Itī is an Atharvavedic term for afflictive outbreaks—often understood as epidemic or widely spreading diseases/harms—that must be ‘overpassed’ and left behind to protect life.
The verses mention herbs (vīrudh) and medicaments (bheṣajāni) in general, but do not require a named plant or a specific amulet. In practice, it can be recited as a blessing alone or spoken over water/medicine before use.
