Sukta 2.40
इमौ देवौ जायमानौ जुषन्तेमौ तमांसि गूहतामजुष्टा । आभ्यामिन्द्रः पक्वमामास्वन्तः सोमापूषभ्यां जनदुस्रियासु ॥
imáu deváu jā́yamānau juṣante imáu tamā́ṃsi gūhatām ájuṣṭā | ābhyā́m índraḥ pakvám āmā́sv antáḥ somāpūṣábhyāṃ janad usríyāsu ||
ഈ രണ്ടു ദേവന്മാർ ജന്മം പ്രാപിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു; ഈ രണ്ടു അജുഷ്ട (സമ്മതിക്കാത്ത) അന്ധകാരങ്ങളെ മറയ്ക്കുന്നു. ഇവരാൽ ഇന്ദ്രൻ അപക്വത്തിനുള്ളിലെ പക്വത്തെ ഉള്ളിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; സോമ-പൂഷന്മാർ മുഖേന ഉസ്രിയ (പ്രകാശമയ) പശുക്കൾ—പ്രകാശത്തിന്റെ കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ—ഉത്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
