આ ટૂંકા અગ્નિ-સૂક્તમાં માતાના ગર્ભમાં અગ્નિના ગુપ્ત જન્મનું ચિંતન થાય છે—આવરણોમાં છુપાયેલો અગ્નિ પછી સ્પષ્ટ સ્વરૂપે પ્રગટ થાય છે. તેમાં અગ્નિના તેજસ્વી, પ્રાણદાયક બળની સ્તુતિ છે, જે સમુદાયો અને સમૃદ્ધિમાં વૃદ્ધિ કરે છે; તેમજ પવન અને રાખ સાથે કિરણ/જ્વાળા રૂપે તેની ચંચળ લીલા સ્મરાય છે, જ્યાં તે કર્મ માટે પોતાની શક્તિઓને તીક્ષ્ણ બનાવે છે.

Mantra 1
अभ्यवस्थाः प्र जायन्ते प्र वव्रेर्वव्रिश्चिकेत । उपस्थे मातुर्वि चष्टे ॥
આવરણરૂપ અવસ્થાઓ પ્રગટ થાય છે; આવરણમાંથી ગુપ્ત રહેલો ચેતન બને છે; માતાના અંકમાં તે પોતાની વિશિષ્ટ રૂપે દેખાય છે.

जुहुरे वि चितयन्तोऽनिमिषं नृम्णं पान्ति । आ दृळ्हां पुरं विविशुः ॥
તેઓ હવન કરે છે અને વિવેકથી ઓળખે છે; અણિમેષ નૃમ્ણ (વીરબળ)નું રક્ષણ કરે છે; અને દૃઢ કિલ્લામાં પ્રવેશ્યા છે.

आ श्वैत्रेयस्य जन्तवो द्युमद्वर्धन्त कृष्टयः । निष्कग्रीवो बृहदुक्थ एना मध्वा न वाजयुः ॥
શ્વૈત્રેય તરફ જનસમૂહો અને કૃષિજન જાતિઓ તેજસ્વી બળમાં વધે છે; સોનાની કાંઠાવાળો, વિશાળ ઉક્તિવાળો—આના દ્વારા તે મધ સમો વહે છે, સમૃદ્ધિનો શોધક.

प्रियं दुग्धं न काम्यमजामि जाम्योः सचा । घर्मो न वाजजठरोऽदब्धः शश्वतो दभः ॥
પ્રિય દૂધ સમું, ઇચ્છનીય—તે સગાં સંબંધિત શક્તિઓની અંતરંગતામાં જન્મે છે; ઘર્મ સમો તે વાજજઠર—સમૃદ્ધિનું ઉદર—અદબ્ધ, શાશ્વતમાં અદભ્ર.

क्रीळन्नो रश्म आ भुवः सं भस्मना वायुना वेविदानः । ता अस्य सन्धृषजो न तिग्माः सुसंशिता वक्ष्यो वक्षणेस्थाः ॥
રમતાં, હે રશ્મિ, તું આવી પહોંચ્યો છે—ભસ્મ સાથે, વાયુ સાથે મિશ્રિત, સર્વથા જાણતો; તેના બળો તીક્ષ્ણ ધારવાળા આક્રમણકારો સમા—સુશાણિત, વહનસ્થાને સ્થિત, પ્રહાર માટે તત્પર.
