ଏହି ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ଅଗ୍ନି-ସୂକ୍ତରେ ମାତୃଗର୍ଭରେ ଅନ୍ତର୍ନିହିତ ଅଗ୍ନିର ଗୁପ୍ତ ଜନ୍ମକୁ ଧ୍ୟାନ କରାଯାଏ—ଆବରଣମାନଙ୍କ ଭିତରେ ଲୁଚିଥିବା ଅଗ୍ନି ପରେ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ରୂପରେ ପ୍ରକଟ ହୁଏ। ଏହା ଅଗ୍ନିଙ୍କ ଦୀପ୍ତିମାନ, ପ୍ରାଣଦାୟକ ଶକ୍ତିକୁ ସ୍ତୁତି କରେ, ଯାହା ଜନସମୁଦାୟ ଓ ସମୃଦ୍ଧିକୁ ବଢ଼ାଏ; ଏବଂ ପବନ ଓ ଭସ୍ମ ସହ ଚଳିତ କିରଣ/ଶିଖାର ଭଳି ତାଙ୍କ ଚଞ୍ଚଳ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ାକୁ ସ୍ମରଣ କରାଏ, କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ତାଙ୍କ ଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧାର କରି ତୀକ୍ଷ୍ଣ କରେ।

Mantra 1
अभ्यवस्थाः प्र जायन्ते प्र वव्रेर्वव्रिश्चिकेत । उपस्थे मातुर्वि चष्टे ॥
ଆବରଣ-ସ୍ୱଭାବ ଅବସ୍ଥାମାନେ ପ୍ରକଟ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ଆବରଣରୁ ଗୁପ୍ତ ଥିବା ସେ ଚେତନ ହୁଏ; ମାତାଙ୍କ ଅଙ୍କରେ ସେ ନିଜର ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ରୂପରେ ଦୃଶ୍ୟ ହୁଏ।

जुहुरे वि चितयन्तोऽनिमिषं नृम्णं पान्ति । आ दृळ्हां पुरं विविशुः ॥
ସେମାନେ ହବନ ଅର୍ପଣ କରନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ବିବେକରେ ପରିଚୟ କରନ୍ତି; ଅନିମିଷ ନୃମ୍ଣ (ବୀରବଳ)କୁ ସେମାନେ ରକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତି; ଏବଂ ଦୃଢ଼ ଦୁର୍ଗରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିଛନ୍ତି।

आ श्वैत्रेयस्य जन्तवो द्युमद्वर्धन्त कृष्टयः । निष्कग्रीवो बृहदुक्थ एना मध्वा न वाजयुः ॥
ଶ୍ୱୈତ୍ରେୟଙ୍କ ଦିଗକୁ ଜନସମୂହ ଓ କୃଷିଜନ ଜାତିମାନେ ଦ୍ୟୁମତ୍ (ତେଜସ୍ୱୀ) ବଳରେ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଆନ୍ତି; ନିଷ୍କ-ଗ୍ରୀବ (ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଣ୍ଠାଭରଣଧାରୀ), ବୃହଦୁକ୍ଥ (ବିଶାଳ ସ୍ତୁତିବାଣୀ) ସେ—ଏହାଦ୍ୱାରା ସେ ମଧୁ ପରି ଗତି କରେ, ସମୃଦ୍ଧିର ଅନ୍ୱେଷୀ।

प्रियं दुग्धं न काम्यमजामि जाम्योः सचा । घर्मो न वाजजठरोऽदब्धः शश्वतो दभः ॥
ପ୍ରିୟ ଦୁଗ୍ଧ ପରି, କାମ୍ୟ (ଇଚ୍ଛନୀୟ) ସେ—ସହଜାତ/ଜାମ୍ୟ ଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମୀୟତାରେ ଜନ୍ମ ନେଉଛି; ଘର୍ମ ପରି ସେ ବାଜଜଠର (ସମୃଦ୍ଧିର ଉଦର)—ଅଦବ୍ଧ (ଅବଞ୍ଚିତ), ଶାଶ୍ୱତରେ ଅକ୍ଷୟ।

क्रीळन्नो रश्म आ भुवः सं भस्मना वायुना वेविदानः । ता अस्य सन्धृषजो न तिग्माः सुसंशिता वक्ष्यो वक्षणेस्थाः ॥
କ୍ରୀଡା କରୁଥିବା, ହେ ରଶ୍ମି, ତୁମେ ଆସିଛ—ଭସ୍ମ ସହ, ବାୟୁ ସହ ମିଶି, ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଜାଣି; ତାହାର ଶକ୍ତିମାନେ ତୀକ୍ଷ୍ଣଧାର ଆକ୍ରମଣକାରୀ ପରି—ସୁସଂଶିତ (ଭଲଭାବେ ଧାର ଦିଆ), ବହନ-ସ୍ଥାନରେ ନିହିତ, ପ୍ରହାର ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ।
