Soma Pavamāna (Indu)

हे संक्षिप्त पवमान स्तोत्र गायकांना गायत्री छंदाने सोमाची स्तुती करण्यास आवाहन करते; तेजस्वी थेंब (इंदु) याला अनेक नेत्रांचा, सर्वज्ञ-परिज्ञाता असा सामर्थ्यस्वरूप मानते. गाळण्यांपलीकडे धाव घेत कलशांत शिरणाऱ्या सोमाच्या यज्ञगतिचा मागोवा घेत, त्या शुद्ध प्रवाहाला इंद्राच्या अंतःसुखाशी व बळाशी जोडते. शेवटी, सोम शांतीरूपाने शुद्ध होवो आणि प्रजावंत रेतः—संतती व समृद्धी धारण करणारी सर्जनशील, फलदायी शक्ती—प्रदान करो, अशी प्रार्थना करते.

Mantra 1
प्र गायत्रेण गायत पवमानं विचर्षणिम् । इन्दुं सहस्रचक्षसम् ॥
गायत्री छंदाने गा—पवमान सोमाला, सर्वत्र कार्य करणाऱ्या सामर्थ्याला; त्या तेजस्वी इंदूला, सहस्र-चक्षु (असंख्य दृष्टींनी युक्त) असणाऱ्याला।

तं त्वा सहस्रचक्षसमथो सहस्रभर्णसम् । अति वारमपाविषुः ॥
तू—सहस्र-चक्षु, आणि सहस्र-भरण (हजारो शक्ती धारण करणारा)—तुला त्यांनी गाळणीतून शुद्ध केले; विभाजनाच्या चाळणीपलीकडे।
Mantra 3
अति वारान्पवमानो असिष्यदत्कलशाँ अभि धावति । इन्द्रस्य हार्द्याविशन् ॥
पवमान होऊन तो गाळण्यांपलीकडे वेगाने निघून गेला; तो कलशांकडे धावतो, इंद्राच्या हृदयात प्रवेश करत।

इन्द्रस्य सोम राधसे शं पवस्व विचर्षणे । प्रजावद्रेत आ भर ॥
इन्द्राच्या राधस् (अनुग्रह/समृद्धी) साठी, हे सोम, हे विचर्षणे (विस्तृत-कार्यशील), शांतीत पवित्र होऊन प्रवाहित हो; प्रजायुक्त रेतस् (बीज-शक्ती) येथे आण.
