ഈ സംക്ഷിപ്ത സംജ്ഞാന-സൂക്തം അശ്വിന്മാരോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു: സ്വന്തം വൃത്തത്തിനുള്ളിലും പുറത്തുള്ളവരോടും ഐക്യമനസ്സ് (പൊതുവായ ബോധ്യം) സ്ഥാപിച്ച്, കൂട്ടായ ജീവിതം പിളർപ്പില്ലാതെ മുന്നേറട്ടെ. പലരും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടുമ്പോൾ—പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഉത്കണ്ഠ നിറഞ്ഞ പൗരമോ യുദ്ധസമയമോ ആയ ഘട്ടങ്ങളിൽ—പൊതു കലഹം, അശുഭലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ, അസ്ഥിരമാക്കുന്ന അപശകുനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ നിയന്ത്രിക്കപ്പെടുകയും, ഏകീകൃത ആലോചനയും തീരുമാനവും മേലിടപെടുകയും ചെയ്യണമെന്നതാണ് ഇതിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ.

सांमनस्यम्। सं॒ज्ञानं॑ नः॒ स्वेभिः॑ सं॒ज्ञान॒मर॑णेभिः । सं॒ज्ञान॑मश्विना यु॒वमि॒हास्मासु॒ नि य॑च्छतम्
സാമനസ്യം—മനസ്സുകളുടെ ഐക്യം. നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്തം ജനങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് പൊതുവായ ബോധം നൽകുക; അന്യരോടും പൊതുവായ ബോധം നൽകുക. ഹേ അശ്വിനൗ, ഇവിടെ ഞങ്ങളിലിടയിൽ ആ പൊതുബോധം ദൃഢമായി സ്ഥാപിക്കുവിൻ.
