ऋतुर्जनित्री तस्या अपस्परि मक्षू जात आविशद्यासु वर्धते । तदाहना अभवत्पिप्युषी पयोंऽशोः पीयूषं प्रथमं तदुक्थ्यम् ॥

Transliteration

ṛtur janitrī tasyā apaḥ pari makṣū jāta āviśad yāsu vardhate | tad āhanā abhavat pipyuṣī payo ’ṃśoḥ pīyūṣaṃ prathamaṃ tad ukthyam ||

Translation

ಋತು—ಜನಿತ್ರೀ ಶಕ್ತಿ; ಅವಳ ಸುತ್ತ ಅಪಃ (ಜಲಗಳು). ಜನಿಸಿದ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅವನು ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದನು, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆಗ ಅವಳು ಹಾಲುಕೊಡುವ ಹಸುವಾಗಿ, ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ಉಬ್ಬಿದಳು; ಅಂಶು (ಕಾಂಡ/ಸೋಮದಂಡ)ದ ಹಾಲು—ಮೊದಲ ಪೀಯೂಷ (ಅಮೃತ)—ಇದೇ ಸ್ತುತಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯ.
