ऋतुर्जनित्री तस्या अपस्परि मक्षू जात आविशद्यासु वर्धते । तदाहना अभवत्पिप्युषी पयोंऽशोः पीयूषं प्रथमं तदुक्थ्यम् ॥

Transliteration

ṛtur janitrī tasyā apaḥ pari makṣū jāta āviśad yāsu vardhate | tad āhanā abhavat pipyuṣī payo ’ṃśoḥ pīyūṣaṃ prathamaṃ tad ukthyam ||

Translation

ഋതു—ജനിത്രീ ശക്തി; അവളുടെ ചുറ്റും അപഃ (ജലങ്ങൾ). ജനിച്ച ഉടനെ അവൻ വേഗത്തിൽ അവയിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചു; അവയിൽ തന്നെയാണ് അവൻ വളരുന്നത്. അപ്പോൾ അവൾ സമൃദ്ധിയാൽ നിറഞ്ഞു വീർപ്പോടെ, പാലുതരുന്ന പശുവായി; അംശു (തണ്ട്/സോമദണ്ഡ)യുടെ പാൽ—ആദ്യ പീയൂഷം (അമൃതം)—ഇതാണ് സ്തുതിക്ക് യോഗ്യം.
