Sukta 2.7
Gṛtsamada (Bhārgava)
Agni
Gāyatrī
Is mantra mein Bharaton ka apna agni hai jise bulaya ja raha hai. Agni sabse chhota hai phir bhi sabse aage hai. Use ghee daal ke mazboot kiya jaata hai. Wo purana aur pasandida purohit hai jo havan ko poora karta hai.
Agni, tum Bharaton ke ho, tum sabse naye aur sabse bade ho. Chamakdaar daulat hamare paas lao. Tum achche ho, woh daulat lao jo sab log chahte hain.
Mantra 2
Agni, tumhare saath hum dushmano ko paar kar lenge. Jaise paani ki dhaara aage badhti rehti hai, waise hum bhi aage badh jayenge. Koi rok nahi paega.
Mantra 4
Agni, tum bilkul saaf ho aur sabko saaf karte ho. Tumhari jyoti bahut badi chamakdar hai. Log tumhe ghee daal ke jalate hain aur tum bade ho jate ho.
Mantra 5
Agni, tum hamare ho, Bharaton ke Agni. Log apni shakti aur bal se tumhe jalate hain. Har kadam ke saath tum bade ho rahe ho.
Mantra 6
Agni hamari taraf se daudta hai, ghee se sana hua. Yeh purana hota hai, sabse bada. Yeh bal ka beta hai, ek anokhi cheez.
It asks Agni to bring “luminous” and much-desired wealth—prosperity, wellbeing, and the successful fruit of worship for the community.
Because Agni is described as being kindled and strengthened by ghee; the oblation symbolizes nourishing the sacred fire so it can carry prayers effectively.
Hotṛ is the invoking priest. Calling Agni the ancient Hotṛ means he is the timeless, reliable mediator who makes the offering reach the gods and makes the rite work.
