Sukta 8.39
यो अग्निः सप्तमानुषः श्रितो विश्वेषु सिन्धुषु । तमागन्म त्रिपस्त्यं मन्धातुर्दस्युहन्तममग्निं यज्ञेषु पूर्व्यं नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
yó agníḥ saptá-mānuṣaḥ śritó víśveṣu síndhuṣu | tám ā́ aganma tri-pástyaṃ mandhātúr dasyuhán-tamam agním yajñéṣu pū́rvyaṃ nabhantām anyaké samé ||
อัคนีองค์นั้น—ผู้เป็น “มนุษย์เจ็ดชั้น” (saptamānuṣa) ตั้งมั่นอยู่ในสายน้ำทั้งปวง—เราทั้งหลายได้มาถึงพระองค์: ผู้มีเรือนสามประการ (tripastya), อัคนีแห่งมันธาตฤ (Mandhātṛ), ผู้สังหารดัสยุ (Dasyu) อย่างยิ่ง, อัคนีโบราณในยัญพิธี—ขอให้พลังอริศัตรูถูกขับไล่ไปยังที่อื่น.
