Sukta 8.39
यो अग्निः सप्तमानुषः श्रितो विश्वेषु सिन्धुषु । तमागन्म त्रिपस्त्यं मन्धातुर्दस्युहन्तममग्निं यज्ञेषु पूर्व्यं नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
yó agníḥ saptá-mānuṣaḥ śritó víśveṣu síndhuṣu | tám ā́ aganma tri-pástyaṃ mandhātúr dasyuhán-tamam agním yajñéṣu pū́rvyaṃ nabhantām anyaké samé ||
जो अग्नि सप्तमानुष (सात-गुण मानव-रूप) है, और समस्त सिन्धुओं (धाराओं) में प्रतिष्ठित है—उसी के पास हम आए हैं: त्रिपस्त्य (त्रि-गृह) मन्धातृ का, दस्यु-हन्ता में श्रेष्ठ, यज्ञों में प्राचीन अग्नि; शत्रु शक्तियाँ अन्यत्र दूर हाँकी जाएँ।
