Sukta 8.39
यो अग्निः सप्तमानुषः श्रितो विश्वेषु सिन्धुषु । तमागन्म त्रिपस्त्यं मन्धातुर्दस्युहन्तममग्निं यज्ञेषु पूर्व्यं नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
yó agníḥ saptá-mānuṣaḥ śritó víśveṣu síndhuṣu | tám ā́ aganma tri-pástyaṃ mandhātúr dasyuhán-tamam agním yajñéṣu pū́rvyaṃ nabhantām anyaké samé ||
எந்த அக்னி ‘ஸப்தமானுஷ’ (ஏழுமடங்கு மனித-ரூபம்) ஆகவும், எல்லாச் சிந்துக்களிலும் (நதிநீரோட்டங்களில்) நிலைபெற்றவனாகவும் உள்ளானோ—அவனிடமே நாம் வந்தோம்: ‘த்ரிபஸ்த்ய’ (மூன்று இல்லம்) மந்தாத்ரியின், தஸ்யு-ஹந்தர்களில் மிகச் சிறந்தவன், யாகங்களில் பழமையான அக்னி; பகைமைப் படைகள் வேறிடத்திற்குத் துரத்தப்படுக.
