Skanda
ಸ್ಕಂದ ಉಪನಿಷತ್ ಅಥರ್ವವೇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಶೈವ ಉಪನಿಷತ್. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಕಂದ/ಕುಮಾರ/ಗುಹ (ಕಾರ್ತ್ತಿಕೇಯ)ನನ್ನು ಉಪದೇಶಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರತೀಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ ಆತ್ಮತತ್ತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರ ವೇದಾಂತೀಯ ಸಾರ: ಮೋಕ್ಷವು ಕರ್ಮಸಂಚಯದಿಂದಲ್ಲ, ಆತ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಮ (ಶಿವ/ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ)ಗಳ ಅಭೇದಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ. ಅವಿದ್ಯೆ ಬಂಧನದ ಮೂಲ; ವಿವೇಕ-ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಮುಕ್ತಿಯ ಸಾಧನ. ಸ್ಕಂದನ ‘ವೇಲ್’ ಅಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸುವ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಸಂಕೇತ; ಮಯೂರವು ವಾಸನೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಜಯವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಭಕ್ತಿ-ಉಪಾಸನೆ ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರೂ, ಅದರ ಪರಮ ಗುರಿ ಅದ್ವೈತಾನುಭವ—ಉಪಾಸಕ, ಉಪಾಸ್ಯ, ಉಪಾಸನೆ ಪರಮಾರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೇ—ಎಂಬ ಬೋಧನೆ.
