第10巻は『アタルヴァ・ヴェーダ』の中でも最も露わに思弁的・宇宙論的性格を示す巻であり、護りと統合の儀礼から出発して、人・政治共同体・宇宙における秩序の根拠を持続的に問い究める。讃歌はスカンバ（Skambha、宇宙の柱）とプラジャーパティ（Prajāpati）を統御原理として、世界・方位・神々・そして知る主体が何に支えられているかを探る。また、ウッチシタ（ucchiṣṭa、聖別された残余）の神学は、「残り物」を生成力として再評価し、生命・秩序・連続性を支える世界維持の力として位置づける。こうした高次の形而上学的展開と並行して、アタルヴァ的実践も存続する。すなわち、敵対的なクリティヤー（kṛtyā）や毒、攪乱の力を祓い出し、その後にマニ（maṇi）や繁栄の連関、宇宙秩序への再整列によって、全体の整合と安定を再構築するのである。
