The Siva Dharma Purana (also known as Shiva Dharma Purana or Shivadharma) is an early medieval Shaiva text that served as a comprehensive manual for devotion to Lord Shiva. Narrated by Nandikeshvara to Sanatkumara and the assembled sages on Mount Meru, it systematically covers the eightfold path of Shiva bhakti (Ashtanga Bhakti), the proper procedures and merits of Linga worship (Archana Vidhi), the cosmic origin of the Shiva Linga (Lingodbhava), the immense merit of constructing and serving Shiva temples (Prasada Adhyaya), and the spiritual fruits of various ritual offerings (Archana Dravya Punya). It is a foundational text for understanding Shaiva ritual practice and devotional theology.
