Soma Pavamāna
આ ટૂંકું સોમ પવમાન સૂક્ત સોમની સ્તુતિ કરે છે—જે ગાળણી (પવિત્ર)માંથી અખંડ ધારાઓમાં વહે છે, જાણે સ્વર્ગમાંથી વરસતો વરસાદ, અને પ્રચુર વાજ (બળ/સમૃદ્ધિ) તરફ આગળ વધે છે. રસ શુદ્ધ થઈ ‘ચમકાવાતો’ હોય ત્યારે સોમને રાજસ્વરૂપ, ઋત/ધર્મનું પાલન કરનાર અને બાજ જેવી ઝડપી ગતિ ધરાવનાર તરીકે કલ્પવામાં આવે છે—જાણે ખજાનાં પર બાજ બેસે. ઉપાસકો માટે સ્વર્ગ અને પૃથ્વીમાંથી સર્વ ધન-સંપત્તિ લાવી આપે એવી તેની પ્રાર્થના કરવામાં આવે છે.

प्र ते धारा असश्चतो दिवो न यन्ति वृष्टयः । अच्छा वाजं सहस्रिणम् ॥
પ્ર તારા અવિરત ધારા, દ્યૌમાંથી વરસતા વૃષ્ટિ જેવી, આગળ વધે છે—સહસ્રગુણ વાજ (બળ-સમૃદ્ધિ) તરફ.
Mantra 2
अभि प्रियाणि काव्या विश्वा चक्षाणो अर्षति । हरिस्तुञ्जान आयुधा ॥
પ્રિય કાવ્યશક્તિઓ—બધીને નિહાળી તે અર્ષે છે; હરિતવર્ણ (હરિ) તુઞ્જાતો, પોતાના આયુધો—કાર્યસાધક ઊર્જાઓ—ને આગળ ધપાવે છે.
Mantra 3
स मर्मृजान आयुभिरिभो राजेव सुव्रतः । श्येनो न वंसु षीदति ॥
સ તે આયુશક્તિઓથી મર્મૃજાતો (પરિશુદ્ધ થતો), રાજા સમ બળવાન અને સુવ્રત (ઋત-નિયમમાં સ્થિર) બની, શ્યેન જેવી રીતે વાંછિત વસુ (ધન-ખજાનો) પર બેસે છે.

स नो विश्वा दिवो वसूतो पृथिव्या अधि । पुनान इन्दवा भर ॥
હે ઇન્દુ (સોમ), તું પુનાન—પવિત્ર થતો—દિવ્ય લોકમાંથી અને પૃથ્વી પરથી સર્વ વસુઓ, સર્વ ધન-સંપત્તિ અમારે માટે લાવી દે; તેને અમારે સુધી વહન કર.
