Soma Pavamāna
ଏହି ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ସୋମ ପବମାନ ସୂକ୍ତରେ ସୋମଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଶଂସା କରାଯାଇଛି—ସେ ଛାଣନୀ ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଅବିଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ଧାରାରେ ବହେ, ଯେପରି ଆକାଶରୁ ବର୍ଷା ଅବତରେ, ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଚୁର ବଳ (ବାଜ) ଦିଗକୁ ଅଗ୍ରସର ହୁଏ। ରସ ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ‘ପଲିଶ’ ହେବା ସମୟରେ ସୋମଙ୍କୁ ରାଜସି, ଧର୍ମନିଷ୍ଠ ଓ ବେଗବାନ ଭାବେ ଚିତ୍ରିତ କରାଯାଇଛି—ଧନରେ ବସୁଥିବା ବାଜପକ୍ଷୀ ପରି। ଉପାସକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ସେ ଆକାଶ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀରୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଧନ-ସମ୍ପଦ ଆଣିଦେଉନ୍ତୁ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରାଯାଇଛି।

प्र ते धारा असश्चतो दिवो न यन्ति वृष्टयः । अच्छा वाजं सहस्रिणम् ॥
ତୋର ଅବିରତ ଧାରାମାନେ ଦ୍ୟୌରୁ ପଡୁଥିବା ବୃଷ୍ଟି ପରି ଆଗକୁ ଯାଆନ୍ତି—ସହସ୍ରଗୁଣ ବାଜ (ବଳ-ସମୃଦ୍ଧି) ଦିଗକୁ।
Mantra 2
अभि प्रियाणि काव्या विश्वा चक्षाणो अर्षति । हरिस्तुञ्जान आयुधा ॥
ପ୍ରିୟ କାବ୍ୟଶକ୍ତିମାନେ—ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ସେ ଅର୍ଷେ (ବହେ); ହରିବର୍ଣ୍ଣ (ହରି) ତୁଞ୍ଜାନ ନିଜ ଆୟୁଧ—କର୍ମସାଧକ ଊର୍ଜା—କୁ ଆଗେ ଧକ୍କା ଦେଉଛି।

स मर्मृजान आयुभिरिभो राजेव सुव्रतः । श्येनो न वंसु षीदति ॥
ସେ ଆୟୁଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମର୍ମୃଜାନ (ପରିଶୁଦ୍ଧ ହେଉଥିବା), ରାଜା ପରି ବଳବାନ ଓ ସୁବ୍ରତ (ଋତ-ନିୟମରେ ଅଟୁଟ) ହୋଇ, ଶ୍ୟେନ ପରି ବାଞ୍ଛିତ ବସୁ (ଧନ-ନିଧି) ଉପରେ ବସିଯାଏ।

स नो विश्वा दिवो वसूतो पृथिव्या अधि । पुनान इन्दवा भर ॥
ହେ ଇନ୍ଦୁ (ସୋମ), ତୁମେ ପୁନାନ—ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ହେଉଥିବା—ଦିବରୁ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀରୁ ସମସ୍ତ ବସୁ, ସମସ୍ତ ଧନ-ସମ୍ପଦ ଆମ ପାଇଁ ଆଣ; ସେଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ଆମ ପାଖକୁ ବହନ କର।
