उदु ष्य देवः सविता हिरण्यया बाहू अयंस्त सवनाय सुक्रतुः । घृतेन पाणी अभि प्रुष्णुते मखो युवा सुदक्षो रजसो विधर्मणि ॥

úd u ṣyá deváḥ savitā́ hiraṇyáyā bāhū́ ayaṃsta sávanāya suk rát uḥ | ghṛténa pāṇī́ abhí pruṣṇute makhó yúvā sudákṣo rájaso vídharmaṇi ||

見よ、その神サヴィタールは昇りゆく。黄金の腕を、搾りの儀(サヴァナ)のために伸べひろげた――光明の意志をもつ者。ギー(ghṛta)にてその手を潤し、力において若く、技において完全なる者は、諸界の広き空間に法(リタ)を打ち立てる。
