Soma Pavamāna (Indu, the purified Soma)
ఈ సంక్షిప్త పావమాన స్తోత్రం, సోముడు పీడింపబడి శుద్ధి చేయబడి స్థిరమైన ధారగా ప్రవహించే వేళ అతనిని స్తుతిస్తుంది; సహజ బలంతోనే అతడు ప్రతిఘటనలను ఛేదించి ముందుకు సాగుతాడు. వడకట్టే బాహ్య కర్మను అంతర్గత ప్రేరణతో ఇది అనుసంధానిస్తుంది: సోముడు ‘మార్జ్య’—శుద్ధికర్తగా, అలాగే ఇంద్రుని వీరానందోన్మాదాన్ని మేల్కొలిపేవాడిగా అవతరిస్తాడు; స్తోత్రగీతాలు కూడా పాలిచ్చే ఆవు మ్రోగినట్లు అతనివైపు ధారలుగా ప్రవహిస్తాయి.

प्र सुवानो धारया तनेन्दुर्हिन्वानो अर्षति । रुजद्दृळ्हा व्योजसा ॥
నలిపి పిండిన ఇండు (సోమ) ధారగా నిరంతరం ప్రవహిస్తుంది; ప్రేరితుడై అతడు ప్రవహిస్తాడు—తన బలంతో కఠినమైన అడ్డంకులను ఛేదిస్తాడు.

सुत इन्द्राय वायवे वरुणाय मरुद्भ्यः । सोमो अर्षति विष्णवे ॥
పిండిన సోమం ఇంద్రునికై, వాయువికై, వరుణునికై, మరుతులకై—మరియు విష్ణువికై ప్రవహిస్తుంది. అది దేవశక్తులకు తన పరిశుద్ధ ఆనంద-రసాన్ని అర్పిస్తుంది.

वृषाणं वृषभिर्यतं सुन्वन्ति सोममद्रिभिः । दुहन्ति शक्मना पयः ॥
బలవంతుణ్ని బలవంతులే ప్రేరేపించగా, వారు అద్రి-శిలలతో సోమాన్ని పిండుతారు. వారు నైపుణ్యంతో పోషక సారం—మధుర పయః—దోహిస్తారు.

भुवत्त्रितस्य मर्ज्यो भुवदिन्द्राय मत्सरः । सं रूपैरज्यते हरिः ॥
అతడు త్రితస్య మార్జ్యః—శుద్ధికర్త—అవుతాడు; ఇంద్రునికై మత్సరః—ఉద్దీపక పరవశం—అవుతాడు. హరి (తామ్రవర్ణుడు) రూపాలతో కలిసి అభిషిక్తుడై సమ్యక్గా యోజింపబడతాడు.

अभीमृतस्य विष्टपं दुहते पृश्निमातरः । चारु प्रियतमं हविः ॥
ఋతస్య విశాల ఆసనాన్ని లక్ష్యంగా, పృష్ని-మాతరః (చుక్కల వర్ణమాతలు) అతనికై చారు, అత్యంత ప్రియమైన హవిస్సును దోహనము చేస్తారు.

समेनमह्रुता इमा गिरो अर्षन्ति सस्रुतः । धेनूर्वाश्रो अवीवशत् ॥
అతనివైపు—ఆహ్వానించకపోయినా ఆకర్షించే అతనివైపు—ఈ గిరః సమవేగంగా నిరంతరం ప్రవహిస్తాయి; ప్రేరణ యొక్క ధేనువు (వాశ్రః) మ్రోగుతుంది.
