śrīvarāha uvāca || sumatir nāma rājāsīd dhārmiko lokaviśrutaḥ || tīrthayātrānimittena svargalokaṁ gataḥ purā ||
Varāha
It presents a Purāṇic model of kingship where public renown is linked to dharma and pilgrimage, reflecting how tīrthas functioned as cultural institutions in classical India.
No single tīrtha is named here; the verse introduces pilgrimage in general, with specific sites typically clarified in surrounding passages.
The verse foregrounds dhārmika conduct and tīrtha-yātrā as culturally valued practices associated with merit and elevated posthumous destiny.
