Sukta 3.39
नकिरेषां निन्दिता मर्त्येषु ये अस्माकं पितरो गोषु योधाः । इन्द्र एषां दृंहिता माहिनावानुद्गोत्राणि ससृजे दंसनावान् ॥
ná kir eṣāṁ ninditā́ mártyeṣu yé asmā́kaṁ pítaro góṣu yodhā́ḥ | índra eṣāṁ dṛṁhitā́ mā́hināvān úd gotrā́ṇi sasṛje daṁsanā́vān ||
ಮರ್ತ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಲಾರರು—ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತರರನ್ನು—ಅವರು ಗೋṣu (ಗೋಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಪ್ರಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ) ಯೋಧರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಮಹಿಮಾವಂತನಾದ ಇಂದ್ರನು ಅವರನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಿದನು; ಮತ್ತು ದಂಸನಾವಾನ್ (ಕಾರ್ಯಸಿದ್ಧಿಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ) ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಗುಪ್ತ ಗೋತ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು—ಮುಚ್ಚಿಹಾಕಿದ ಗೋಸಮೂಹ/ಕಿರಣಗಳನ್ನು—ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು.
