The ‘Iron-Bolt’ Tīrtha
śvetaparvatamāruhya patamānaḥ kurūn bahūn || patitas tatra dṛśyeta kṣataṃ tatra na dṛśyate
Varāha (default dialogue framework)
It exemplifies a widespread tīrtha-māhātmya motif: the sacred site is portrayed as conferring extraordinary protection, reinforcing its cultural prestige and pilgrimage appeal.
“Śveta-parvata” (White Mountain) is mentioned; its precise identification is uncertain without corroborating contextual markers and regional tradition.
Implicitly, the verse encourages trust in regulated sacred-space narratives while situating safety as a feature of the tīrtha’s cultural meaning rather than reckless behavior.
