आ यः सोमेन जठरमपिप्रतामन्दत मघवा मध्वो अन्धसः । यदीं मृगाय हन्तवे महावधः सहस्रभृष्टिमुशना वधं यमत् ॥
Transliteration
ā́ yaḥ sómena jaṭháram apípratām ámandata maghávā́ mádhvo ándhasaḥ | yadī́ṃ mṛgā́ya hántave mahā́vadhaḥ sahásrabhṛṣṭim uśánā́ vadháṃ yámat ||
Translation
ソーマ（Soma）によって腹を満たし、蜜なる搾り汁により歓喜した施与者（マガヴァン）――彼が抗う「野獣」を討つため、千の刃をもつ武器を求めたとき、聖仙ウシャナー（Uśanā）は彼のためにその殺すべき力を定めた。
