सचन्त यदुषसः सूर्येण चित्रामस्य केतवो रामविन्दन् । आ यन्नक्षत्रं ददृशे दिवो न पुनर्यतो नकिरद्धा नु वेद ॥
Transliteration
sácanta yád uṣásaḥ sū́ryeṇa citrā́m asya ketávo rā́m avindan | ā́ yán nákṣatraṃ dadṛ́śe divó ná púnar yató nákir addhā́ nú veda ||
Translation
ウシャス（Uṣas）たる曙光が太陽と結び合って進むとき、彼の奇しき光標（ケートゥ）は、輝く歓喜を彼のために見いだす。やがて星のしるしが現れると、それは天より来たかのように見える――しかし、それが再びいずこより来るのか、確かに知る者は誰もいない。
