अद्या दूतं वृणीमहे वसुमग्निं पुरुप्रियम् । धूमकेतुं भाऋजीकं व्युष्टिषु यज्ञानामध्वरश्रियम् ॥
Transliteration
adyā́ dūtáṃ vṛṇīmahe vásum agníṃ purupriyám | dhūmakétuṃ bhā́ṛjīkaṃ vyùṣṭiṣu yajñā́nām adhvaraśríyam ||
Translation
今日われらは使者として選び取る――富をもたらすアグニ（Agni）、多くに愛される者を。煙を旗印とし、光輝鋭き者；暁のひらけゆく時々に、彼は祭祀（yajña）の美、儀礼（adhvara）を導く栄光である。
