Rishi: Atharvanic seer-tradition (book 6 charm corpus)
Devata: Manas (Mind) and the Aśvins as paradigmatic agents of reunion
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (probable)
Mantra 1
Mantra 2
Mantra 3
It aims to make another person’s mind return, agree, and remain oriented toward the speaker—reunion plus sustained attachment—using binding metaphors and a prepared attraction-compound.
The Aśvins function as the paradigm of swift reunion and coordinated movement; their ‘vehicle meeting and moving together’ becomes the model for two minds coming into the same course.
They supply the concrete ritual technology: a fragrant/cosmetic unguent (anurodhana) that embodies ‘sweetness’ and favor, meant to support social winning—compliance, consent, and attraction.
