Sukta 36
yáthā́kharo maghaváṁś cā́rur eṣá priyó mṛgā́ṇāṁ suṣádā babhū́va | evā́ bhágasya juṣṭéyam astu nā́rī saṁpriyā́ pátyā́virādhayantī ||
As the ass, O bounteous Lord, this comely one, became dear to the wild creatures, firmly established in their favour,—so may this woman be, by Bhaga’s grace, accepted and enjoyed: dear in full measure to her husband, giving him no offence.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (specific ṛṣi attribution for AV 2.36 varies by anukramaṇī; commonly treated as Atharvan/Angiras-type domestic seers).
Devata: Bhaga (as marital allotter and enjoyer-bestower); secondarily the ‘model’ of natural erotic success in the simile.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (probable; requires metrical confirmation against a pada-counted edition).
Primary: shringara
Secondary: shanta
