Soma Pavamāna
This short Pavamāna hymn praises Soma as he rushes forth through the waters and filters, cleansing himself and becoming fit for the rite. It asks the purified Soma to gladden and strengthen human beings, to prevail for the peoples, and to repel hostile speech and darkness by his bright, sweet, pressed essence.

Mantra 1
प्र सोमासो अधन्विषुः पवमानास इन्दवः । श्रीणाना अप्सु मृञ्जत ॥
सोम की बूंद तेज़ हो कर बह रही हैं। यह पानी में साफ हो रही हैं। अपने आप को भर के, वो धरम के काम के लिए साफ हो रही हैं।

अभि गावो अधन्विषुरापो न प्रवता यतीः । पुनाना इन्द्रमाशत ॥
किरणें सोम की तरफ दौड़ रही हैं, जैसे पानी नीचे बहता है। अपने आप को साफ कर के, वो इंद्र तक पहुँच रही हैं। इंद्र मन का मालिक है।

त्वं सोम नृमादनः पवस्व चर्षणीसहे । सस्निर्यो अनुमाद्यः ॥
सोम, तुम इंसानों को खुश करते हो। अपने आप को साफ करके लोगों के लिए जीतना। तुम वो जीतने वाले हो जो खुशी के पीछे भागता है और मन को और ज़्यादा खुशी देता है।

इन्दो यदद्रिभिः सुतः पवित्रं परिधावसि । अरमिन्द्रस्य धाम्ने ॥
इंदु, जब पत्थर से निचोड़ा जाता है तो छन्नी के पास दौरा लगाता है। तब तुम इंद्र के लिए तैयार हो जाते हो। उसकी ताकत हमारे अंदर बसाने के लिए।

शुचिः पावक उच्यते सोमः सुतस्य मध्वः । देवावीरघशंसहा ॥
सोम को साफ और चमकदार कहते हैं। यह निचोड़े हुए मीठा रस से बनता है। भगवानों के लिए यह एक बहादुर है जो बुरी बातें खत्म करता है और भगवान की जान को बचाता है।
