This hymn is an invitatory Soma-song to Indra: the poet calls him to come swiftly with his two bay horses and drink the freshly pressed Soma. It repeatedly urges Indra to place the Soma within his belly and be strengthened, so that he may grant protection, power, and victory to the Kuśika/Viśvāmitra lineage who invokes him.

उप नः सुतमा गहि सोममिन्द्र गवाशिरम् । हरिभ्यां यस्ते अस्मयुः ॥
इंद्र, हमारे पास आओ। हमने सोम रस निकाला है, आप उसको पियो। आप अपने दो घोड़ों के साथ आओ। आप हमारी पूजा के लिए आते हैं।

तमिन्द्र मदमा गहि बर्हिःष्ठां ग्रावभिः सुतम् । कुविन्न्वस्य तृप्णवः ॥
इंद्र, आप आओ और उस आनंद को लो। हमने पत्थर से सोम रस निकाला है और उसको बिछा दिया है। आपका मन भरेगा, आपको सैटिस्फैक्शन मिलेगा।

इन्द्रमित्था गिरो ममाच्छागुरिषिता इतः । आवृते सोमपीतये ॥
मेरे शब्द सीधे इंद्र तक पहुंचे। मैं यहाँ से बुला रहा हूँ। अब वो वापस आएंगे सोम रस पीने के लिए।

इन्द्रं सोमस्य पीतये स्तोमैरिह हवामहे । उक्थेभिः कुविदागमत् ॥
हम इंद्र को बुला रहे हैं सोम रस पीने के लिए। हम अपने गानों से उन्हे बुला रहे हैं। क्या वो सच में आ जाएंगे? आशा है कि आ जाएंगे।

इन्द्र सोमाः सुता इमे तान्दधिष्व शतक्रतो । जठरे वाजिनीवसो ॥
हे इंद्र, यह सोम रस तैयार है, अभी निचोड़ा गया है। तू इसको अपने पेट में रख ले। तू में सौ शक्तियाँ हैं, तू बलवान है। तू इस रस से और स्ट्राँग हो जा।

विद्मा हि त्वा धनंजयं वाजेषु दधृषं कवे । अधा ते सुम्नमीमहे ॥
हम जानते हैं तू धन जीत सकता है, तू हिम्मत वाला है। तू जो भी करता है उसमें दम होता है। इसलिए हम तुझसे आशीर्वाद माँग रहे हैं। तू हमें खुश रख और आगे बढ़ा।

इममिन्द्र गवाशिरं यवाशिरं च नः पिब । आगत्या वृषभिः सुतम् ॥
इंद्र, यह सोम रस है, इसमें गाय का दूध और जौ की ताकत है। आ जा और हमारे लिए इसको पी ले। अपनी पूरी शक्ति लेकर आ, और इस रस को ले ले।

तुभ्येदिन्द्र स्व ओक्ये सोमं चोदामि पीतये । एष रारन्तु ते हृदि ॥
इंद्र, यह सोम रस सिर्फ तेरे लिए है, तेरे अपने घर में। मैं इसको तेरे पास भेज रहा हूँ ताकि तू पी सके। यह रस तेरे दिल में जाके खुश हो और वही बैठ जाए।

त्वां सुतस्य पीतये प्रत्नमिन्द्र हवामहे । कुशिकासो अवस्यवः ॥
इंद्र, तू बहुत पुराना है, हम तुझे बुला रहे हैं। यह सोम रस तेरे लिए तैयार है, आ कर इसको पी ले। हम कुशिक परिवार के लोग हैं, हम तुझसे मदद माँग रहे हैं।
