Kena Upanishad 1: Verse 1
केनेषितं पतति प्रेषितं मनः केन प्राणः प्रथमः प्रैति युक्तः। केनेषितां वाचमिमां वदन्ति चक्षुः श्रोत्रं क उ देवो युनक्ति॥१॥
केन इषितम् पतति प्रेषितम् मनः केन प्राणः प्रथमः प्रैति युक्तः। केन इषिताम् वाचम् इमाम् वदन्ति चक्षुः श्रोत्रम् कः उ देवः युनक्ति॥
kena iṣitaṃ patati preṣitaṃ manaḥ kena prāṇaḥ prathamaḥ praiti yuktaḥ | kena iṣitāṃ vācam imāṃ vadanti cakṣuḥ śrotraṃ ka u devo yunakti ||
کس کی مرضی سے من اپنے ارادوں پر گر پڑتا ہے؟ کس کی وجہ سے پہلا پران اپنے کام کے لیے رواں ہوتا ہے؟ کس کی ہدایت سے یہ بولی بولی جاتی ہے جو لوگ بولتے ہیں؟ کون سا دیوتا آنکھ اور کان کو جوڑتا ہے؟
By whom is the mind directed to fall upon its objects? By whom does the first life-breath move forth to its function? By whom is this speech that people speak directed? What god indeed unites the eye and the ear?
