Sukta 8.21
जयेम कारे पुरुहूत कारिणोऽभि तिष्ठेम दूढ्यः । नृभिर्वृत्रं हन्याम शूशुयाम चावेरिन्द्र प्र णो धियः ॥
jáyema kāré puruhūta kāríṇo’bhí tíṣṭhema dūḍhyàḥ | nṛ́bhir vṛtráṃ hányāma śūśuyā́ma cā́ver índra prá no dhíyaḥ ||
ขอให้เราชนะในการกระทำ โอ้ผู้ถูกอัญเชิญเนืองนิตย์ เหนือผู้กระทำที่กระทำต้านเรา; ขอให้เรายืนคร่อมเหนือความยากลำบากอันกดทับหนักหนา. ด้วยพลังแห่งมนุษย์ทั้งหลาย ขอให้เราฆ่า วฤตระ (Vṛtra) ภายใน; ขอให้เราเร่าร้อนด้วยเจตจำนงที่จะกระทำ. โอ้อินทรา โปรดนำความคิดอันดลใจของเราให้ก้าวหน้าไป.
