Sukta 8.21
जयेम कारे पुरुहूत कारिणोऽभि तिष्ठेम दूढ्यः । नृभिर्वृत्रं हन्याम शूशुयाम चावेरिन्द्र प्र णो धियः ॥
jáyema kāré puruhūta kāríṇo’bhí tíṣṭhema dūḍhyàḥ | nṛ́bhir vṛtráṃ hányāma śūśuyā́ma cā́ver índra prá no dhíyaḥ ||
ഹേ പുരുഹൂത, പ്രവർത്തിയിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ജയിക്കട്ടെ; ഞങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ ജയിക്കട്ടെ. അമർത്തപ്പെട്ട കഠിന പ്രതിസന്ധികൾക്കുമീതെ ഞങ്ങൾ നിലകൊള്ളട്ടെ. നരബലങ്ങളാൽ ഉള്ളിലെ വൃത്രത്തെ ഞങ്ങൾ സംഹരിക്കട്ടെ; അത് ചെയ്യാനുള്ള ഇച്ഛയിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ജ്വലിക്കട്ടെ. ഹേ ഇന്ദ്ര, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ധിയഃ (പ്രേരിത ചിന്തകൾ) മുന്നോട്ടു നയിക്കണമേ.
