Sukta 2.13
प्रजाभ्यः पुष्टिं विभजन्त आसते रयिमिव पृष्ठं प्रभवन्तमायते । असिन्वन्दंष्ट्रैः पितुरत्ति भोजनं यस्ताकृणोः प्रथमं सास्युक्थ्यः ॥
prajā́bhyaḥ púṣṭiṃ vi-bhájanta āsate rayím iva pṛṣṭháṃ pra-bhávantam āyáte | asínvan dáṃṣṭraiḥ pitúr atti bhójanam yás tā́kṛṇoḥ prathamáṃ sá āsy ukthyáḥ ||
พวกเขานั่งอยู่ แบ่งปันความอุดมเลี้ยงดูแก่เหล่าผู้เกิดขึ้นทั้งหลาย ดุจวางทรัพย์ไว้บนหลังที่รองรับได้และเพิ่มพูนได้. ผู้ไม่รู้จักอิ่มกัดกินอาหารของบิดาด้วยเขี้ยวฟัน—ผู้ซึ่งปั้นแต่งพลังทั้งหลายเป็นครั้งแรก; เขานั่นแลคือเนื้อแท้แห่งบทสรรเสริญนี้.
