อวศฺ 2.17 เป็นสุกตะแบบอาถรรพณ์ที่กระชับ ว่าด้วยการ “สถาปนาคืน” แก่คณะอินทรียะ โดยเชิญพลังชีวิตที่จำเป็นให้กลับเข้าประจำในผู้ป่วย ด้วยการกล่าวเรียกโดยตรงต่ออินทรียะที่ถูกบุคลาธิษฐานเป็นพลังเฉพาะตน ผ่านถ้อยคำสั้น ๆ แบบสฺวาหา โดยเฉพาะที่มุ่งถึง อายุสฺ (ชีวิต) และ โศฺรตฺร (การได้ยิน) เพื่อฟื้นคืนสมรรถนะทางประสาทสัมผัส ทำให้ปราณ/พลังชีวิตมั่นคง และขยายความคุ้มครอง (ปริปาณะ) ป้องกันความเสื่อมบกพร่องที่จะเกิดซ้ำ
