ఈ సంక్షిప్త అథర్వణీయ మంత్రం నిరృతి—దురదృష్టం, క్షయం, మరణస్వరూపత—ను శుద్ధికర జలాల ద్వారా, అగ్ని ఆధారిత పునరుద్ధరణ ద్వారా, పుణ్యబలంతో నిలిచిన యజ్ఞవాక్యంతో ప్రతిఘటించి దూరం చేస్తుంది. పడిపోయే ఫలం లేదా ఆకాశస్పర్శ వంటి అపశకున “సంపర్కం”ను తొలగించదగిన మలినంగా భావించి, దేహం నుండీ వస్త్రం నుండీ శుద్ధి చేస్తుంది; అనంతరం వ్యక్తిని ఐశ్వర్యం, తేజస్సు, సంతానప్రద శుభమంగళంలో స్థిరపరుస్తుంది.

సుగంధమయమైనది ఈ అభ్యంజనం (లేపనం)—అదే సమృద్ధి; హిరణ్యం (బంగారం) తేజస్సు—అదే సంతానప్రదం కూడా. అన్ని పవిత్రకరాలు మా మీద విస్తరించుగాక; నిరృతి మమ్మల్ని అవతలికి మోసుకుపోకూడదు; శత్రువుల అరాతి (దుష్టత) మాపై పైచేయి సాధించకూడదు.
