అగ్ని ‘సపత్నహన్’—ప్రతిద్వంద్వులను సంహరించువాడు. ఓ అగ్నే, ఋతువులు మరియు సంవత్సరాలు నిన్ను వృద్ధి చేయుగాక; సంవత్సర-చక్రాలు, ఋషులు, వారి సత్యములన్నీ. దివ్య తేజస్సుతో సంపూర్ణంగా ప్రకాశించు; నాలుగు దిక్కులన్నింటిలోనూ వెలుగును వ్యాపింపజేయు.

అగ్నీ, ఈ బ్రాహ్మణులు నిన్నే వరిస్తున్నారు. అగ్నీ, మా రక్షణ-ఆవరణంలో మాకు శివుడు (కల్యాణకరుడు)గా ఉండు. అగ్నీ, సపత్నహన్, అభిమాతిజిత్గా ఉండు; నీ స్వగృహంలో జాగ్రత్తగా కాపలా కాయుము—అప్రయుచ్ఛన్, నిరంతరం.

అగ్నీ, నీ స్వకీయ క్షత్ర (రాజశక్తి)తో దృఢంగా పట్టుకో; అగ్నీ, మిత్రుని బలంతో మిత్రధర్మానుసారం యత్నించు. సజాతుల మధ్య శ్రేష్ఠుడవై ఉండు, రాజుల మధ్యస్థానంలో స్థిరపడు; అగ్నీ, బహ్వాహ్వ్య, ఇక్కడ మా కోసం ప్రకాశించి దీప్తించు.
