अयं लघुस्तोत्रः पौर्णमासीं (पूर्णचन्द्रां) विजयीं सर्वसम्पूर्णां च विश्वशक्तिं पवित्रीकरोति, यस्यां देवा निवसन्ति, यया च मनुष्याः यज्ञसमृद्ध्या सह प्रमोदन्ते। सम्यग् चान्द्रव्रतपालनं हविर्दानं च पूर्णतया (पूर्णता), समृद्ध्या, इष्टकामसिद्ध्या, तथा स्वर्गप्राप्तिहेतुना पुण्येन सह सम्बध्नाति।

पूर्णिमा। पू॒र्णा प॒श्चादु॒त पू॒र्णा पु॒रस्ता॒दुन्म॑ध्य॒तः पौ॑र्णमा॒सी जि॑गाय । तस्यां॑ दे॒वैः सं॒वस॑न्तो महि॒त्वा नाक॑स्य पृ॒ष्ठे समि॒षा म॑देम
पूर्णा पश्चादुत पूर्णा पुरस्तादुन्मध्यतः पौर्णमासी जिगाय। तस्यां देवैः संवसन्तो महित्वा नाकस्य पृष्ठे समिषा मदेम।

वृ॒ष॒भं वा॒जिनं॑ व॒यं पौ॑र्णमा॒सं य॑जामहे । स नो॑ ददा॒त्वक्षि॑तां र॒यिमनु॑पदस्वतीम्
वृषभं वाजिनं वयं पौर्णमासं यजामहे। स नो ददात्वक्षितां रयिमनुपदस्वतीम्॥

प्रजा॑पते॒ न त्वदे॒तान्य॒न्यो विश्वा॑ रू॒पाणि॑ परि॒भूर्ज॑जान । यत् का॑मास्ते जुहु॒मस्तन्नो॑ अस्तु व॒यं स्या॑म॒ पत॑यो रयी॒णाम्
प्रजापते न त्वदेतान्यन्यो विश्वा रूपाणि परिभूर्जजान। यत् कामास्ते जुहुमस्तन्नो अस्तु वयं स्याम पतयो रयीणाम्॥

पौर्णमासी प्रथमा यज्ञियासीदह्नां रात्रीणामतिशर्वरेषु। ये त्वां यज्ञैर्यज्ञिये अर्धयन्त्यमी ते नाके सुकृतः प्रविष्टाः॥
