Sukta 3.2
क्रत्वा दक्षस्य तरुषो विधर्मणि देवासो अग्निं जनयन्त चित्तिभिः । रुरुचानं भानुना ज्योतिषा महामत्यं न वाजं सनिष्यन्नुप ब्रुवे ॥
kratvā́ dákṣasya tárūṣo vídharmaṇi devā́so agníṁ janayanta cítti-bhiḥ | rurucānám bhānúnā jyótiṣā mahā́m atyáṁ ná vā́jaṁ saniṣyán úpa bruve ||
Dengan kehendak sedar (kratu) dan kemahiran daya yang berkesan (dakṣa), dalam tertib hukum kerja yang benar (vi-dharmaṇi), para dewa melahirkan Agni melalui persepsi-persepsi bercahaya (citti). Dia yang bersinar dengan pancaran dan cahaya—agung, laksana kuda lumba keluasan—aku menyeru-Nya, mencari vāja (kemenangan/tenaga).
