Sukta 4.24
तमिन्नरो वि ह्वयन्ते समीके रिरिक्वांसस्तन्वः कृण्वत त्राम् । मिथो यत्त्यागमुभयासो अग्मन्नरस्तोकस्य तनयस्य सातौ ॥
tám ín naró ví hvayante samīké ririkvā́ṃsas tanvàḥ kṛṇvata trā́m | mithó yát tyā́gam ubhā́yāso ágmān narás tokásya tánayasya sātáu ||
സമീകത്തിൽ—മുഖാമുഖി ഏറ്റുമുട്ടലിൽ—മനുഷ്യർ അവനെയേ വിളിക്കുന്നു; ദൃഢപരിശ്രമികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരങ്ങളെ തന്നെ ഒരു രക്ഷാകവചമാക്കുന്നു. പരസ്പരം നേരിട്ട് ഇരുവിഭാഗങ്ങളും ത്യാഗ-ക്ഷണത്തിലേക്ക്—അപകടവും സമർപ്പണവും നിറഞ്ഞ നിർണായക ഘട്ടത്തിലേക്ക്—എത്തി ചേർന്നപ്പോൾ, സന്താനത്തിന്റെയും വംശത്തിന്റെയും ജയത്തിനായി (പരമ്പരയുടെ തുടർച്ചയ്ക്കായി) ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ അവനെ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
