आ देवानामपि पन्थामगन्म यच्छक्नवाम तदनु प्रवोळ्हुम् । अग्निर्विद्वान्त्स यजात्सेदु होता सो अध्वरान्त्स ऋतून्कल्पयाति ॥
ā́ devā́nām ápi pánthām aganma yác chaknávāma tád ánu prá-voḷhum | agnír vidvā́nt sá yajā́t séd u hótā sá adhvarā́nt sá ṛtū́n kálpayāti ||
ഞങ്ങൾ ദേവന്മാരുടെ പാതയിൽ എത്തിച്ചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു—ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് കഴിയുന്നതോളം അതിനെ പിന്തുടർന്ന് മുന്നോട്ട് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു. അറിയുന്ന അഗ്നി യജിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ തന്നെയാണ് ഹോതൃ—അവൻ അധ്വരങ്ങളെ (യജ്ഞവിധികളെ)യും ഋതുക്കളെയും ഋതപ്രകാരം ക്രമപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
