Sumantra’s Reproof of Kaikeyi in the Royal Assembly
Therefore, let Rama potect this kingdom. Be relieved of mental afflictions. There is no other person in this excellent city more competent than Rama to rule this kingdom.
Rajadharma: the kingdom should be protected by the most competent and rightful heir; personal agitation should not override public welfare.
Sumantra urges Kaikeyi to accept Rama as protector of the realm and to abandon her distress-driven insistence on exile.
Rama’s fitness to rule—self-control, capability, and legitimacy as heir—is foregrounded.
